All great changes are preceded by chaos. – Deepak Chopra……. In such uncertain times, it is common to feel confused, disorganized and uncertain about the future. Think back to a time in your life when change was inevitable, though difficult what was the silver lining?
What did you learn? How did you grow? and How can you compare this to your current disposition? While we face so much adversity and ambiguity, it is ok to feel out of control. As a Resident in Counseling, I am dedicated to helping individuals and families create the new norm through the use of cognitive behavioral techniques and solutions.I have worked in the mental health field for over 15 years and I have experience working with individuals and families in need of help following a tragedy. I am a skilled clinician in emergency mental health services and crisis intervention. I have experience with de- escalation and stabilizing clients following a traumatic event and providing grief support.
My approach to therapy is to establish meaningful rapport, trust and a sense of safety because without safety there is no process, no breakthrough and no healing. I want to welcome and congratulate you on your first step in seeking care for yourself or your family and I look for to working with you in the future.
We all have personal issues like managing anger, depression, suicidal thoughts, aging, effective parenting, self esteem, relational issues, managing stress, or addiction and sometimes facing it alone is quite a challenge. We can work through these challenges together with a positive outcome to build strength in developing a powerful sense of yourself and promoting mental fitness and well being.
My areas of specialty include substance abuse, mood disorders, depression, stress and anxiety, and family discord. I also provide couples counseling, parent-child relationship, drug addiction, conflict resolution, and anger management. I use a variety of cognitive-behavioral, dialectical behavior therapy, and solution focused approaches.
I have a great deal of experience walking with others and I invite you to reach out during this time of difficulty. I have worked in the field of mental health for the past 13 + years in a variety of settings. I understand how important it is to feel safe and strive to create a non-judgmental and empathetic space that promotes mental health and well being.
